Delete your UZOVIA account
You can request deletion of your UZOVIA account at any time. The fastest path is from inside the app — use the web form below only if you no longer have access to it.
1. Delete from the UZOVIA app
- Open the UZOVIA app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Security → Delete account.
- Verify with the one-time code emailed to your registered email and confirm your Transfer PIN.
- Your account is closed immediately. We delete personal profile data within 30 days, except where Nigerian law requires longer retention (see our privacy policy).
2. Request deletion via this form
Use this form only if you cannot access the app (lost device, phone-number change you can't verify, deceased account holder, etc.). We will email you within 24 hours to confirm your identity before any data is removed.
What gets deleted, and what we must keep
We delete the personally identifying parts of your account immediately on closure: profile photo, push tokens, device sessions, support tickets older than the legal retention window, and your unused promo credits.
By Nigerian law (CBN, NFIU, FIRS) some financial records must be retained for 7 years after account closure: transaction ledger entries, BVN/NIN hashes (never the raw numbers), KYC verification metadata, AML/compliance flags, and stamp duty records. These are pseudonymised — your name and contact details are removed — and held only for regulatory audit.
